We have not been eavesdropping per se, but when you overhear certain things, you cant help but listen...here are a few examples of late. We are not able to grab the video camera (lucky them) because these are truly fleeting moments so least we can do is grab a pen and paper and jot them down as best we can. We will try to do this more as they are priceless.
Boys are coloring at the art table......
Heath: Alder, would you be sad if a bald-headed eagle ate me?
Alder: Yes, would you be sad if a bald-headed eagle ate................Charlotte?
H: Yes
A: Yes, b/c she is your friend, right? Because remember when you had a pillow party with her?
H: If a bald-headed eagle ate you I'd be so, so so sad.
A: would you be sad if I died?
H: YEs, I would be so sad.
[2 mnutes of silent coloring]
H: Alder, would you be sad if a mommy vulture at me?
A: No
H: Well,.......mommy would, and Charlotte, and Lindsay and Clint.
A: ..........would you be sad if a giant squashed me with his foot?
H: Daddy would be mad
A: Yeah, he would run to the store and to the hunting store and get a gun and point it at the giant and shoot it.
H: But the giant would kick daddy down.......
H: Daddy would just be nervous.
