So, obviously, given our nearly two month hiatus from blog updates... life has been plenty full. Who knows what it is? Could link it to many things that make us busy, but if one tiny thing has changed to have a rippling effect through everything, it would have to be Heath moving. He rapidly went from slithering to cruising upright.
This has picked up the pace for everyone in general, has generated lots more to pick up constantly, 
has added another dimension to discipline since Heath's mobility is affecting Alder's world most (e.g., Heath destroying train table set up and Alder melting and whining),
has erased our ability to control the scene by leaving Heath in one place, and all this movement came with a giant appetite. I guess all that has filled the voids we might have used for blogging. But it all weighs out to fun, so...Heath has also become quite dramatic and able to make us fully aware of his displeasure, regardless of the severity. I believe Jason took a stick from him that he had been chewing on...
We wanted to post a quick video of Alder shaving my beard (this is Dad, by the way), but due to technical difficulties, we will have to settle for pics for now. We got Alder into the notion of shaving it off. He was timid about it at first, but got excited. Before we did it we asked him to help decide what tools would be best to cut Daddy's beard. We tried a saw.

Last weekend we went strawberry picking on an unusually blustery day. We were quite succesful despite the cool weather. As a side note, Heath does not like fruit of any kind. He has eaten banana on occasion, but all other fruits come right out. We will keep trying.
Alder continues to eat everything! ..after close inspection.
Also, last weekend, Sylvia and Joren came over for a playdate. Joren is one month older than Heath and they seemed to enjoy each other. It is neat how they are both quite chill and contented overall, yet able to make themselves heard when necessary. I am beginning to think that this is a second child thing...
...and Happy Birthday Sylvia! Thanks for having us over to your house for a wonderful party and walk in the woods. ...and for being such a joy! We love you.

So wonderful to hear how everything is going! Our life is much of an echo - Ellie is mobile and creating much havoc on Charlie's world... Ellie is quite chill except for when she needs to make herself quite clearly heard... Lovin' it! Miss you and wish you all well for the summer.
