two firsts

1. Today, on a rainy Wednesday morning, I was "that Dad" with "those kids". They were a riot and I am thinking this is the first of many drives through the grocery store. When I was loading groceries in the car, Alder was climbing in the real car (the Saturn, a.k.a. "the Golden Bullet"), and Heath, still in the cart, started to roll away. In a moment of panic, Alder yelled for him to stop and not drive away because it was time to go home, while Heath was shrieking, looking back through the cart and banging on the little yellow horn. So funny what they think can actually be real.

And there are thousands of words in each of these re: the way these boys are starting to interact. (Cell phone pics)

2. So this is the second consecutive week of Heath's daycare being closed. Lesley and I have been juggling work to keep him at home, making work happen at nights/weekends to make it work out. Monday, Heath and I went on an unbelievable blueberry picking trip. (Though corny perhaps, I must point out the connection I forced between the berry abundance, Heath's first trip and the fact that blueberries are in the Heath family.) I, with Heath snoozing on my back, picked 16 pounds of berries in 45 minutes! I have never seen bushes so burdened with fruit. This is a pic of one shrub after I picked from it. Shrubs were 8 - 10 feet tall, so we took to the westernmost row and stayed in the shade to boot! If any eastern Virginians are reading this, I highly recommend visiting Swift Creek Berry Farm sometime in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Furthermore, they don't spray their berries. Now how beautiful is that?!

the cell pics at the store are great. I wonder who was doing most of the driving?

LOVE the cart pics! I haven't seen a two-seater, that's awesome! How precious that they're beginning to interact :) That story is hilarious. Where's that blueberry patch? I'll have to get there! I loved having fresh blueberries last year. And Jason, I finally made some of your pesto this weekend with my basil - it's wonderful!! thanks for the recipe!
